Upholstered Pelmets

An Upholstered Pelmet is a decorative and functional addition to your window treatment. Pelmets are useful in bedrooms and theatre room for blocking light from the top of the curtains. They also reduce heat transfer by stopping the convection cycle making your home more energy efficient.

There are many decorative options for Upholstered Pelmets including shapes, piping and other trims, banding and layering. 

AJM Upholstered Pelmet Specifications

  • Widths of up to 7 meters in one piece
  • Frame constructed from MDF. 16mm headboard and 6mm face and returns
  • Face, returns and interior returns lined in supplied fabric.
  • Wadding applied for padding.
  • Internal Face and head board fully lined. (White lining is supplied by AJM)
  • Gimp is applied at internal seams. (White gimp is supplied by AJM)
  • Face Fit brackets supplied - Large (125mm x 100mm x 5mm) or Small (100mm x 75mm x 5mm)
  • Pelmets can be supplied with or without curtain tracking.
  • If not otherwise specified in your order Inside Box Measures are assumed.

Upholstered Pelmet - Fabric Requirement Calculation

Please take into consideration the pattern repeat and sew lines for pelmets requiring joins. We suggest railroading when using a plain fabric. We suggest the use of fabrics that are suitable for upholstery. Sheer or translucent fabrics will be pre-lined (Surcharge applies).
Please clearly indicate the direction and face of the fabric.

  • 190mm returns
  • 1400mm fabric width
  • the fabric’s pattern repeat must be at least 150mm plus 80mm per pipe more than the pelmet height. Otherwise the width must contain multiple pattern repeats.
