Timber Pelmets

A Timber Pelmet is a natural, decorative and functional addition to your window treatment. Pelmets are useful in bedrooms and theater room for blocking light from the top of the curtains. They also reduce heat transfer by stopping the convection cycle making your home more energy efficient.

The decorative options for Timber Pelmets are a selection of trims and any paint or stain colour. We can also colour match if the paint or stain name is unknown (Surcharge applies).

As is the case with the staining of all natural timbers, the end colour result can vary slightly.

Timber Pelmets can be made up 5 meters in one continuous piece.

AJM Timber Pelmets Specifications

  • Width of up to 5 meters in one piece
  • Frame constructed of 19mm Radiata Pine face, returns and headboard. 
  • Supplied plain, single or double trim. Two Trim Types available - see diagram.
  • Painted using standard DULUX® colour formulas or AJM Custom Stain. Can also have metalized colour finishes.
  • Sealed using pre-catalysed clear lacquer in Semi Gloss finish.
  • Face Fit brackets supplied. - Large (125mm x100mm x 5mm) or Small (100mm x 75mm x 5mm)
  • Pelmets can be supplied with or without curtain tracking.
  • If not otherwise specified in your order, Inside Box Measures are assumed.

Timber Pelmet Sizing

Standard Timber used for AJM Timber Pelmets may have visible knots. Knot-free Grade One timber can be specially ordered.
